Digital Leaders

The Digital Schools Award recognises schools that use digital technology effectively to support learning and teaching. We last achieved this award in 2018 and are currently working towards our next award.

Mrs Souter runs the Digital Leader programme for P6 and P7 pupils. Pupils apply through an application form and interview process before receiving training to become fully fledged Digital Leaders. The programme promotes leadership, digital literacy, problem-solving skills, and confidence.

Digital Leaders play an important role across the school. They run competitions, deliver lessons to younger classes, support teachers during ICT lessons, assist with IT audits, contribute to assemblies, and help interview the next generation of Digital Leaders before moving on to secondary school. Pupils are encouraged to think creatively, work collaboratively, and take initiative when developing new and exciting digital projects.

The group meets once a week at lunchtime for training and planning, giving pupils a voice in shaping how technology is used across the school and empowering them to become responsible, confident digital citizens.
