At Ancrum Road Primary, every child is supported to grow and thrive in a safe, kind, and respectful environment. Everyone—children, staff, and families—has the right to feel safe, valued, and heard, and we encourage an environment where we all take care of one another. Our school community celebrates individuality and diversity, helping children learn about themselves, each other, and the wider world.

Our vision, STAR – Shine, Together, Achieve, Resilience, guides everything we do, encouraging pupils to reach their full potential while working and learning collaboratively. Our aims—LEAD, LOVE, LEARN—reflect our commitment to nurturing confident, caring, and curious learners.

We work closely with families to ensure every child feels supported and included. Following Dundee City Council’s Equal Opportunities, Anti-Bullying, and Anti-Racism policies, we are dedicated to creating a school where everyone can flourish, free from discrimination or fear.

Our priority is always to support the wellbeing of every child and to work with families to ensure that all pupils feel safe, supported and included.
